ETR.Net is an electronic tuberculosis register designed for TB/HIV surveillance, program monitoring and evaluation. The system consists of a database which is accessed by the user via a user-friendly software interface, custom developed for the Microsoft Windows environment.
The ETR.Net software is implemented at sub-district, district and provincial levels in all 9 provinces of South Africa, with more than 450 users. The software has also been introduced, or implemented, in several other countries, including Botswana, Cote d’Ivoire, Guatemala, Lesotho, Namibia, Swaziland and Tanzania.
This project is partly funded by the U.S. President's Emergency Plan for Aids Relief (PEPFAR) with technical assistance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Global AIDS Program (GAP) South Africa.
