Water and Sanitation Risk Analysis

Drinking water and sanitation treatment components can be assessed in terms of vulnerability on a risk matrix indicating the likelihood and severity of impacts to a number of hazards identified (these hazards vary from project to project). These factors can be identified from findings of field surveys as well as a literature studies (e.g. municipal reports related to water & waste water treatment) and can be analysed using our ‘Risk Assessment Software Tool’ - which was developed in order to enhance analysis and presentation of results. This software tool is based on the likelihood and degree of impact of identified hazards (e.g. floods and droughts) on water supply to the community and basic services (e.g. sanitation, urban drainage and solid waste) affecting public health and safety.
